I love getting my makeup done by other people, especially people who know what they're doing. Yesterday I had a makeover at the Revlon counter in my local Farmers store. I show you the look in the video as well as what I bought, and what was in the gift I got with purchase. x

Lush Favourites
Friday, 20 March 2015
I'm a bit obsessed with Lush. Have been since 2003, when my eldest sister posted me a bunch of Lush body glitter melts when she was studying at Oxford. New Zealand didn't have Lush back then, but now my local mall has a store and it is one of my favourite places there. The scents wafting out draw me like a seductive (invisible) mist. Or something. I want to keep track of which ones I've tried and loved, so here are my Lush Favourites.
Drugstore BB Cream Review
Tuesday, 17 March 2015
BB creams are kind of old news, aren't they? Now we're on CC, EE, and I don't even know. Nevertheless, BBs are still a popular choice for people who want something to even out their complexion without being too heavy, or too nothing. I must say, at first, I was not at all sure what the fuss was about. I felt like they barely did anything for my skin, besides putting on a slightly tinted greasy layer. No, thank you! After some experimentation, though, I've figured out what works for me, and how to use them in a way that suits my skin.

Here's my current skincare routine. I have oily skin which gets dehydrated, and this is what I find helps to keep it feeling its best. xx

Bright Blue Eyeshadow Look
Friday, 16 January 2015
I did some playing around with most of the blue shades from the BYS Striking Shades palette and came up with this look. Kinda reminds me of the dress Elsa wears in Frozen. Enjoy! x
High End Makeup Wishlist
Monday, 12 January 2015
The more I get into beauty and makeup, the more I find that high-end products are creeping onto my wishlists. Maybe it's psychological - the element of supposed luxury that comes with certain products. Perhaps it's that some of these products genuinely are better quality (I wouldn't know, I've barely tried any of them!). Whatever it is, I just want these at some point, okay?
Light Summer/Back To School Makeup Tutorial
Friday, 9 January 2015
Given the warmer weather and the little time I have to get ready on summer-school days, I thought I'd share the makeup I've been wearing this week. It's a) quick, and b) not heavy on the skin, which means my skin can breathe in this blimmin' heat!
Oh autumn, you own my soul.
Summer Makeup Bag Essentials
Thursday, 8 January 2015
I often find myself reaching for different products according to season and many of them end up in my makeup for when I'm out and about. Speaking of makeup bags, the one in the photo was part of a Baylis & Harding gift set I received one Christmas, so I don't have a link for that, sorry. I just switched to this bag, actually, because my other makeup bag is...disgusting. They get messy pretty fast, don't they?
Inexpensive Art For Your Home or Room
Monday, 5 January 2015
One of my favourite things to do is decorate my flat. I like to switch things up every now and then, but I don't have a lot of money so instead of repainting or buying a new sofa, I stick to things like artwork and special collections. Today I'm going to walk you through some of the art I have in my home and break down the cost for you, plus I'll share some of the tips I've picked up over the years.
The above photo is the gallery wall I have in my living room. I've recently changed a few of the pieces and I like this version much better. I've collected a bunch of difference sized pieces that I really love, with some similar colours and textures. When I do a gallery wall I tend to lay all the pieces out on the floor to get an idea of placement, and then I eyeball the arrangement on the wall. Sometimes I take a photo of the floor arrangement on my phone, so I can refer to that if necessary. For more precise instructions, try this tutorial.
Right, now onto the kinds of art I like to have in my home!

Happy New Year!
Thursday, 1 January 2015
Happy New Year, everyone! I hope you had an enjoyable New Year's Eve, whether you were out partying or having a more relaxed time. I'm not a huge celebrator and more often than not can be found at home with a nice wine, some good food and perhaps a movie or two.
I hope you have a wonderful 2015 and accomplish whatever goals you may have. Do you set resolutions? I'd love to know what your plans are for the year. My first goal is to get through summer school to finish my bachelors degree, ready to graduate later on this year. I can't wait!
Here's to 2015, cheers!
